3 ratifications, 2 days, 1 goal: the European Constitution!

The goal of ratifying the European Constitution has moved a lot closer over

the last 2 days with ratifications in 3 countries - Germany, Austria and

Slovakia.

"There's a real momentum to the ratification process now," stated Jon Worth,

President of the Young European Federalists (JEF-Europe).

"The smooth progress of the Constitution through these parliamentary

ratifications should act as a positive symbol for the referendums to come."

"The ratification in Germany at this time is especially important - European

integration started as a means to prevent conflict between Germany and

France, and the European Constitution is the way to really cement that."

JEF-Europe is a partner organisation in the YES Campaign that has been

organising activities today in front of the Bundestag, and will tomorrow

take to the streets in Strasbourg and at the weekend in Paris.

"By bringing together young people from across Europe, we have started to

show that this Constitution really matters to young people who are the ones

who benefit most from what the EU has to offer," continued Jon Worth.
